So today I COULD have gone to an incredible event hosted by @thebloggershub_ with Spectrum Collections for the launch of their new Black Marbelous brush sets.

If you don't already know about Spectrum Collections makeup brushes, then you might want to sit down for this... Check them HERE
Honestly the most Mermaidy Unicornesque, fabulous brushes you will ever lay your eyes on!
Don't worry I've got a post all about their brushes coming up real soon, as I've been using them for just over a year now and I feel a detailed review is in order. 😻

So a little background on The Bloggers Hub, they are a support network for all bloggers alike who just need an extra boost.
That foot in the door that could propel them to new heights of blogging & social media success.
They organise campaigns, events and socials, online and IRL! to help bring us all together
so that we can share our content and creativity with like minded bloggers, brands and potential new followers!

It's not been long but they are quickly becoming my favourite online network for communicating with the blogosphere and making new friends.
(and no I'm not just saying that cause they wanted to invite me to a super duper shiny event! 😉 )
It truly is a special little community that I'm proud to now be a part of.
If you're not following them already on TWITTER and INSTAGRAM then you need to get on it.

Anyway back to the story and my life epiphany.
So the blogging community baes @thebloggershub_ had one space left and messaged me this morning asking if I could join in the event to celebrate this new launch.
I nearly died of excitement.
As in, huge intake of breath, ohmygodisthisreallyhappeningoneofmyfavouritebrands and breathe...

However, there were just a few problems,
I don't live immediately close to London, I don't have a car, nobody was available to help me out
and basically I was stuck with no real way of getting to the event, QUICKLY!
Queue lots of flapping and manic phone calls to everyone I knew who might have been able to help a gal out!
Clock ticking, finally I had to cave and realistically admit that I wasn't going to make it on time.
To say I was crushed is an understatement.
The event looked absolutely incredible and such a brilliant opportunity to meet other beauty obsessed bloggers and discuss such a babein' brand.

But in the words of Beverley Knight - Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda
Eventually after hours of WHY, WHY, WHYYYYY!?! and beating myself up over my locationally challenged situation, I realised something....

There WILL be other events.

There WILL be other opportunities.

AND most importantly... It's not the end of the world!

Life happens, things inevitably don't always work out the way you want them to and it has taken me a LONG time to be able to get into the more positive state of mind that I am in today.
To be able to look at a situation like that and instead of dwelling on the negative and what could have been,
choose to think, 'hey at least I was even considered! an invite extended to me'.
And for that point alone I will be forever grateful.
I am now more determined than ever to not allow opportunities such as these to pass me by and to not only get involved in everything that potentially comes my way
but to also start CREATING opportunities for myself.
Not everything will just fall into your lap and yes there may seem like endless days where you just work damn hard for what appears to be little reward.
But just because it can be hard work does that mean you should give up?
If you really want something, shouldn't you endlessly strive to achieve it no matter what?

Hard work does something to a person.
The constant effort and honing and crafting and grinding will change you, shape you and ultimately bring you closer to the kind of person you want to be.
Even if after all that, you don't exactly get to where you hoped you would be, you've still achieved something huge.
You've still worked towards creating the greatest masterpiece of all

Cheesy as hell but hey I'm feeling inspired and full of ass kicking positivity that I want to release on to you all.

Sometimes you have to remember that everyone else out there in the blogosphere is just like you.
A feisty little salmon trying to battle upstream against an ever racing current that's trying to push you back down.

So when life gives you lemons you suck the hell out of them, spit out the pips and move on to the next.
The bitter aftertaste is literally just that, an aftertaste... nothing worth lingering on.

Anyway I hope you enjoyed my little life lesson and remember that there is always another pot of gold at the end of the rainbow...
it just might be that it's actually the second rainbow, a little further down the road!! 😂
